I don’t prefer one over the other but each have their pluses and minus:

OKW plus (that don’t apply to SSR)

Huge rooms.
Tropical feel.
New refurb.
For some, 2 beds in a studio.
Many would prefer the table service to the one at SSR but not everyone.

OKW minus (that doesn’t apply to SSR)

Quick serve a window.
Can walk to Disney Springs but it is a long way and not doable really in the dark.
Chance of getting a room with bus noise is higher than SSR.
Chance of having no outlook, either swamp or dense foliage is higher than SSR.

SSR pluses

Better pools.
Better quick serve.
Better chance of a quiet room or room with a view.
Easy walk to all the restaurants and shopping at Disney Springs.

SSR minus

Rooms smaller.
In need of refurb.
Some may prefer tropical feel of OKW.

I think the pools is a big factor for us and we love the paddock and springs pool late in the evening and in the case of the latter watching the movies while in the pool.

Room size was less of an issue given the time we spend there and love a walk to DS.

Decided to ring yesterday and made the switch. Prices had gone up but only had to pay the £50 admin fee so happy with that. will have a good look around OKW when we are there so we have a better idea for next time.
