Hi, I've never heard of a Chase account, can anyone explain a bit more about what makes it great / what the benefits are? Is it just the 1.5% interest for savings?

Thank you

See my post on the first page with the benefits….(posted again below).

Chase launched recently in the UK. They have a bank account you can open easily with an app and you can also have a linked savings account.

Benefits include
1% cashback on all debit card spend
1.5% instant access savings account.
Round up on transactions with savings earning 5%

They also don’t charge commission on foreign transactions and allow fee free withdrawals of cash at chase ATMs in the US.

My wife and I both have the account and use it as a secondary account for travel. We used it on 2 recent trips to the US where it worked perfectly.

There is a £20 sign up bonus (if you put £20 in the account). I’ll also get £20 as the referer and any money I get will be donated to charity (Make a wish UK)

Get started: link.go.chase/emNK/refer?code=FWqf7WjF. T&Cs apply.

Code to add (if you already applied) is FWqf7WjF

Thank you, do you mean that you used it like chip and pin when you were in Florida? We just came back from Florida and used all cash which was annoying, but didn't want any transaction fees or poor exchange rates.

Yes, chip and pin, contactless or Apple Pay. No markup or transaction fees on foreign spend.

Thanks to the 4 people so far that signed up using my referral code. I donated £20 to Make a Wish charity earlier today and will make a further donation of the other referrals after the weekend and post a screenshot of the donation in this thread.

Please respect forum rules and do not post your own referral codes in this thread. 100% of the referral I’m getting is going to charity with gift aid on top.

Using a UK (Sterling) credit or debit card in the US will give you the best exchange rate as nearly all such banks/companies use the ‘market’ rate which is much better than what you could buy cash at.

Using a card that doesn’t charge foreign transaction fees is even better. I use the Halifax Clarity credit card but this Chase debit card also offers fee-free use overseas.

Although Chase Bank for this account is a new venture, the bank in its various titles over the years (Chase Manhattan, JP Morgan Chase) has been a major US international bank for many years. They have a large presence in London (and Frankfurt more recently).

Oh thank you I didn't know that! For some reason I thought you would get a worse exchange rate using a chip and pin over there. Definitely going to get a chase card!
