Aulani Waves and Disneyland Days: An Ohana Adventure - Day 10 A Super time at Super Nintendo World!
Introduction and Index
Day 10 - A Super time at Super Nintendo World Arriving in LAX, check in to Hilton Universal City, Universal Studios Hollywood, Krusty Burger, Panda Express and Super Nintendo World at night. ![]() ![]() After a pretty decent flight, we arrived at LAX about 2 hours behind schedule because of the cancelled flight the night before but with no border control as it was an internal flight and a super speedy bag collection, we were out of the airport in record time. We went to the LAX-It Uber area and got our Uber XL to our Hotel: Hilton Universal City! We stayed here back in 2018 and you really can’t beat the convenience of the location! We got to the hotel by 9 and Bell Services collected our bags and gave us tags as we pulled up, meaning we were on our way to the parks by 9:02 and inside the park by 9:12am! Pretty good! ![]() ![]() ![]() We had a little browse in the shops on the way into the park and then stopped at Starbucks and Lard Lad Donuts for breakfast! ![]() ![]() We had a little browse around Springfield then went on the Studio Tour. ![]() The tour was fantastic - I noticed there were some new parts like a bit from “Nope” by Jordan Peele, some bits were the same as before and a few bits had changed like the Psycho bit - he came out of a different part of the set and didn’t follow the tram! ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() For lunch we went to Krusty burger, our total came to $51.43 - it was all pretty decent theme park food! ![]() ![]() We saw on the app that the park was open late tonight, having got off a red eye flight we all wanted to freshen up and chill for a bit if we wanted a chance of being able to stay up late so we walked back to our hotel. We checked in and had our bags brought up to our room. Turtles in the ponds at the hotel! ![]() We got into our room by about 2:15pm. We had booked an Executive floor room which was supposed to come with a basic breakfast (more on that tomorrow…) it did however have an awesome view, which is why we chose it. ![]() We relaxed, showered and cooled off for a while then headed back out at about 4pm. We decided to watch Waterworld and lined up for that. The show was brilliant - so much fun and the stunts were really impressive. ![]() ![]() After that, we headed up to Hogsmeade for a bit then rode The Mummy and Transformers. At about 7pm we ere getting peckish, so headed in to Panda Express on the lower lot.

First glimpse of Super Nintendo World!
![]() Transformers ![]() ![]() Food was tasty and the 3 meals were just enough for the 4 of us - probably too much to be honest! At about 7:50pm we headed into Super Nintendo World - compared to the daytime crowds we had seen on vlogs and in the distance from the escalator it was fairly quiet which was lovely! ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() We had contemplated buying the bands to play the games but I’m glad we didn’t as the queues to use them even when the area was quiet were insane and I just couldn’t see the value in them. Maybe if we were annual pass holders but not for the 1-2 days we would have used them. Next we went on to Bowser’s Challenge! It was only a 25 min wait in the end even though it was showing as 40. The queue area is so much fun and there’s so much to look at the time really does pass quickly. ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() The ride itself was great and so clever although I don’t think my visor was on right as I could see double of the projections which made it hard to understand where to shoot (Andy and the girls didn’t get this issue and it was fine the next time I rode it the next day). The Mummy looked cool at night! ![]() We browsed the shops and hung around in Super Nintendo World a bit longer then headed towards the escalator to the upper lot to leave. On our way we walked past Jurassic World the ride and saw how awesome the sign looked lit up at night. The ride was down literally all day and we had been gutted as we used to love the old ride and had never seen it since the update. As the girls posed for a picture we noticed people walking towards it and then checked the sign and it said 20 min wait! It was open! So, at 9:20pm we got in line and it turned out to be a complete walk on. It was absolutely brilliant, I loved the giant tanks with the Mosasaurus in them and riding it at night on that beginning bit was brilliant. ![]() We ended up going on twice in a row then decided to call it a night. We finished the last ride about 9:40pm then made our way to the front of the park. We got back to the hotel by 10pm. We had hoped to pop in to Five on the Hill, the little bar in the car park of our hotel but it closed at 10pm - you’d think they’d stay at least 30/60 mins after the parks shut! ![]() ![]() The bar inside didn’t have a great selection of drinks, so we took it as our sign to head back to the room and chill with some American TV and get some sleep ready for the next day ![]()

Good to see everything went well on this day following the delays with the airline. That was a Stroke of luck just catching open Jurassic world before you left!

What a fab first day at Universal Hollywood, such great luck that you noticed Jurassic World had come back online and you got to do it a couple of times!

What a great day! I’m really considering going to Universal on my next LA trip even if it’s on my own! Did you notice if they have Single Rider lines for some of the rides?
