1 night Disney stay EMH
Hi
We are thinking of booking a one night stay at a Disney hotel during our trip in October. Would we be able to access the Extra magic hours on the first morning of our stay before we check in? Or have we got to have checked in before? We will have our Disney tickets but they won’t be linked to our stay will they? So I’m presuming we have to wait til we can check in on the first morning so will only be able to access the extra magic hours the morning after our one night stay. Any advice would be great. Thanks

If you do online check in then you can go straight to the parks before physically checking in. Your tickets will be linked to MDE, as will your onsite stay, so there's no problem there. However, I'm not sure if you need to scan your magic band to prove you're an onsite guest, or if they can do it via a scan of your ticket too.

Thanks for replying.
Good to know we can check in online. Yes we’re not sure about tickets and magic bands. We won’t collect the magic bands until we physically check in so not sure how they will know we’re onsite guests. We were hoping to take advantage of the 6am extra magic hours at Hollywood studios but not sure if we can do this on our first morning of our one night stay. Just to be clear this isn’t a throwaway booking we are booking and staying in the Disney hotel for the night. The rest of our stay is offsite at the Rosen Plaza.

Have you got magic bands from a previous trip?

But will we be able to link our tickets and Disney hotel stay on them if they still work?

We did this. We stayed at beach Club so that we could do Epcot. We arrived at beach Club around 7:30am, checked in, left luggage, then headed to the parks. We did have to collect magic bands.

The extra magic morning hours at Hollywood Studios starts at 6am for each day of our stay. Not sure the hotel will be open for check in at 5.30am?

If your tickets and resort reservation are linked to the same MDE account for all people then your ticket (plastic card) and your magicbands become clones.
Think of it this way: all your information is stored in each person's MDE account. Tickets and magicbands are simply "keys" to pull up the correct MDE profile which has all the information. So any key (plastic ticket or magicband) linked to one account will pull up all the information from that account. In practice this means that, if you've done online check in, you can use your plastic ticket or an old magicband to get free parking at the parks, access EMH, and even enter your room without ever picking up the new magicbands you would get for the resort stay. In other words: yes, you can use your ticket and yes, the old magicbands will work. Because of this cloning system I'm always careful to deactivate any magicbands or tickets that I'm not using because they're all clones and can be active at the same time. You can simply deactivate and reactivate them in your MDE account. |
