Where's the best bar?
Me and DH like to go out for a drink without the kids on our hols. It will be difficult this time as our three kids will be 3yrs and under, and although DH's parents are coming with us, his father has had a car accident and is now disabled so can't help with running around after kids.
But anyway we will go out on one evening of our hols, last time we did Church Street Station (which we thought was pretty naff) and I think its called Pointe Orlando, where we went to see American Pie 2 & Rush Hour 2 at the cinema and had several to drink in the bar upstairs where all the dollars are stuck to the walls and ceilings (can't remember the name of it). That was a couple of days 11/9/01 and it was empty. We once went to a 'British Bar on 192', again can't remember name - sorry, and it was very scary as full of really rough men who started fighting in the doorway and we could'nt get out, thought we were going to get arrested or something as the police turned up (what big guns they have!). DH keeps talking about Hooters, but isnt that where the topless women serve the drinks? Where is a good place to go for a drink (does'nt have to be a club - too tired out usually after parks all day)? By the way is the Irish Bar, possibly called Finnegans, still open in Universal? |

I've always enjoyed sitting at the bat at TGIs on I-Drive. They used to have some sort of networked quiz game which anyone at the bar could partake in - just ask for a hand control.
The barstaff are always friendly and they do great cocktails - I recall one, fondly, that had Oreo cookies in it! |

There's also a TGI at the Crossroads too if you are staying that way.

The waitress in Hooters aren't quite topless but nearly.
The only times I have really had a drink is when I've stayed in a hotel and we've gone down to the bar for a drink. There are a couple of Bars in Old Town and My step father liked them but as I was driving I didn't really have a drink but I would definitely look there. Plus there are shops and attractions for the rest of the family. |

Some deluxe resorts have nice bars in them, but some card at 30! - and only let you have one drink at a time.

ID at Bars
I forgot about the ID thing, last time we went in Sept 2001 I was 25 and DH was 25 nearly 26 and every time we wanted a drink (even in Seaworld at the beer school) we had to produce photo ID. Ha Ha three kids later I think we look more haggard now so hopefully won't need ID!
Mind you I think DH has aged more than me ! |
