Last time didn’t they do it with a crane? I seem to remember them painting the roof silver before it went blue.

We’re supposed to be going August and I will be gutted if it’s behind a scrim. I went to Disneyland when their castle was being painted and it was behind a scrim and it was so irritating! Everything else was great but there’s deffo something missing without a castle photo!

But there's not been a date announced yet, so I'm hoping we'll avoid it, so it's potential as to whether or not it impacts us.

I am gutted as my OH has never been before and wanted him to experience the full magic of Main Street! we won’t be going back for a long time so I am a bit miffed, not cancelling my plans tho

Won’t cancel my holiday over it but cannot lie; I’m absolutely gutted to think that it might not be how I imagined. I’ve been to Florida twice, but never to WDW. This trip has been 9 years in the planning. I very much doubt we will go again with the children (12 & 14), so yes, it really would be a huge deal not to get my family pictures in front of the castle (not to mention seeing it for real) Will I still have a holiday of a lifetime? Yes, of course. But will it be the same without that magical vision and pictures? Possibly not I do think it’s a big deal tbh...

It really wouldn’t bother me , I’m not getting up at the crack of dawn to make rope drop and wasting my time stopping for a castle photo!

But I bet Disney will be along soon with a upgrade fake superimposed castle photo option for a special price

Another repeat visitor and I wasn’t, definitely not, doing Disney this year. But I caved, it is my happy place, as annoyed as I am by some of the changes.

But OMG the castle gutted. Yeah I know I’ve seen it before and will again all being well but the castle and Main Street is my most favourite place in the whole of WDW. Gutted. It’s making me reconsider again my decision. I think I was right first time, no Disney this year.

Also disappointed but won’t make me cancel. Be even more fed up if I’d paid for a MK view in one of the monorail resorts, like we had last time we went. Not sure weather to bother doing the dessert party now.
