We stayed for 6 nights in Summer 2017 and loved it. We used it as a base to explore and also explored every nook and cranny of this lovely place. We found a couple of the beaches were quite touristy, but if you look there are plenty of beach areas that are near empty and glorious. The restaurants were fab and we will go back again some day.

We had a cruise booked this Sept followed by a week on AMI. Really disappointed that both are cancelled.

Managed to pick up the cancelled condo for 5 days in May before we head over to WDW. Looking forward to a really relaxing first week at the beach. Never been there but it's looks lovely.

Hello Disney45 - I'm sorry I've only just seen your post and I'm not sure if you actually sent a pm or not as I've received several requests but I'd be happy to email one to you, I'll pm you

We have now held a cottage for five nights at AMI before we head over to Orlando, so looking forward to it, have been researching places to eat, (most important this has been a dream of mine for so long just hope it actually happens!

Anna Maria Island or Indian Shores are both highly recommended on that section of coast nearish to Busch Gardens. Some great beaches to visit, Tampa (if you like walking Tampa River Walk is great).

You’ll love it Louise, my favourite place on earth!
Just a few of our favourites. You may need longer than 5 nights though 😂

Rod and Reel Pier - fantastic views and a decent steak

Ginny & Jane E’s - amazing breakfasts/brunch, they do a great croissant sandwich and omelette. Shop attached that you can spend hours browsing in!

Peaches - choc chip pancakes!

Hurricane Hanks - Mexican tortilla salad bowl, so good!

Harry’s Bar & Grill - quesadillas, great vibe with live music some nights

The Beach House - amazing views, same chain as the Sandbar but preferred the food here

Smoqehouse - simple menu of burgers but so good!

Gulf Drive Cafe - we had a lovely lunch here, right on the beach

Wicked Cantina - great Mexican menu

Bridge Tender Inn - fab views of the Bay side of the Island down Bridge St which is a must for a wander. Very Caribbean

Two Scoops - ice cream (the best on the island!)

Joes Eats and Sweets - ice cream, still good but two scoops just pips it as best

Whereabouts is the cottage based?

Oh my! All sounds very good, am adding to my notes! The cottage is called Cozy Cottage, its blue bungalow, in North End, on Jacaranda. Its beautiful. I had a very picky list, location, right decor (beachy/cute) number of bedrooms, pool, reviews etc. We are lucky it allows for less than a week, would love longer but its not possible to fit it all in.
