DVC renting through David’s help

Hi.

I’ve reserved AKL (home resort) 1BR/SV for the end of July, 10 night @330 points. We done this at the 11 month window.

We have now decided we probably won’t go, even if we can.

So we want to rent the points through David’s.

Can I cancel the booking we’ve made and not incur and penalties and then just rent the points?

Or

Can I not cancel it, now it’s made and just sell the booking? I’ve started this process but it will reduce potential customers?

Totally new to this so need some advice.

You can do either, what use year are the points? Can you not bank them for future trips?

They are this year 2020 which we have used for July 2021. We would also use 2021 and go for a month. (We do this every 2 years)

I thought I could only bank for a year?

Yeah, you can bank for one year.
How many points do you own and what month is your use year?
Also, when would you next look at travelling?

We are now looking to go in 2022 (summer) so we couldn’t use 2020 points.

Year use is March.

Right, so you have banked March '20 points into '21. I would cancel the reservation and try and make any booking with the '20 points only for the days around the 50th Birthday Celebration (1st October). This would sell best and will book up quickly.
personally I wouldn't use David but try to rent them to a US family on Facebook, there's a couple of groups mentioned in other threads on here.
