I'm very into smoking meat so charcoal all the way. Gas is quicker but imo if you're going to go gas just cook indoors.

Charcoal much more fun and versatile.

Charcoal for us. We had a gas bbq a while ago but got rid of it as the taste is so much better with charcoal.

We now have a charcoal Barbeskew. It's brilliant.

Personal choice and opinion. Charcoal all the way wont entertain a gas BBQ. Gas is just an outdoor oven. I also have a small smoker as well so i am bias. I use it all the time will just come home throw some lump wood on and cook the dinner. Thats the BBQ not smoker.

I will say that there are huge benefits to gas though especially if you are entertaining larger groups.

We have an outdoor kitchen here in Spain but ironically in the countryside where we are BBQs are banned in the summer months unless they fulfil safety conditions, a certain area of concrete etc surrounding said BBQ and TBH we rarely use either as it’s too bloody hot LOL

We have gas, but only really have BBQ's with a lot of people round. I don't bother to set it up for just the two of us. Parties are easy with a gas one, we can switch it on at a moments notice. We normally have people coming in at different times, so a charcoal one would take too long to be ready. Although the taste would, no doubt be better.

I like both - like the gas BBQ for the quick family bbq's with little effort but enjoy the charcoal bbq when doing more special type of cooking on the bbq.

Got loads of photos if anyone is hungry !

We got our first gas bbq this summer and although I prefer the taste of charcoal one we have used the gas one far more than we ever used the charcoal. It’s right outside my kitchen back door so even if we are eating inside I use it grill steaks etc so the house doesn’t smell ! And an added bonus my youngest quite likes doing the cooking on it so I don’t have to bother !

Here goes!

Neither, I detest the flavour of barbecued food and refuse to have a barbecue.
However that's just me and as I do all the cooking the Family haven't experienced it either apart from when the kids were maybe 4 or 5.

Lasted 1 season and I slung it.

So the only BBQ you might experience Mr T, is when you are getting your hair cut and there are a few gents in front of you?

I prefer charcoal but we have a gas one so I voted that as we actually use the gas bbq loads more than we ever did our charcoal one. It’s so quick and easy so can have a bbq in the week and this summer my friend brought me a pizza oven that goes on the bbq so that is getting lots of use too. 🍕
