Snack opinions?

We have a little debate going on in our household would like to know your opinion and what you guys do...

My kids are at an age where they watch all the vloggers (13 and 11) and have a endless list of must try snacks...And I do mean endless.

Now some of them are for the sweet toothed and others the savoury

Our debate is who’s paying for these snacks ?

They each have a few hundred dollars in spends

I don’t mean breakfast lunch or dinner just the snacks as such

How do you guys work it? Am I being a push over if I pay or am I being cruel if I make them pay for their own snacks ?

Do you have a strategy?

One that I thought may work be a good idea was 4 of us going 4 snacks a day to “share” get the kids pay for 2 of their choice

For us it would depend on who is eating, if the 3 of us were eating then I would pay for all of the snack, even if it was 2 us including DS but if it was something that only he wanted then he would pay. TBh this did tend to be sweets as opposed to proper snacks IYKWIM

When free dining was around this wasn’t an issue! Oh what I would give to go back to those days...

In all seriousness, our two are similar age to yours and have a snack bucket list too. What we will be doing if no paid for dining plan is available when we go is to pay for 2 snacks per day each for them (so like the dining plan) but anymore than that they will have to fund themselves. It’s worth noting that we often struggle to get through two snacks a day on top of other meals due to portion size and heat.

I'd also say that there isn't much chance your kids will get through half the snacks on their list. We always go with a long list and they're just too filling!

I pay if it’s a family snack / meal time. (Sometimes we have a snack for lunch for eg). They lay if they just want it.
