The Pointe one is very well located for restaurants etc.

Getting to Universal from there would be a breeze in an Uber. An Uber each way would be cheaper than parking a car at Universal Studios.

Yep.

The better selection of restaurants are south of Sand Lake Road. I see Brits trying to cross that road every time we go and it's gives me the jitters - it's crazy busy and have seen plenty of near misses with pedestrians. Down at the Pointe I Drive is easy to cross without being mown down by someone on their mobile phone.

We have stayed at the Rosen Inn @ Pointe Orlando on all 4 of our orlando trips (one of which was only for 1 night ). We love this hotel its in a great location, is motel based so outdoor corridors straight into your room. They offer a free shuttle bus to the universal parks (booking required the evening before). We now drive but you can get the buses to Disney but it does require a couple of changes.

We haven't stayed at the other Rosen's but as we love the area for this one we likely wouldn't switch (unless the price was massively different which it doesn't tend to be).

The rosen inn at pointe is the most popular and also the largest, the rosen inn international is also popular but a lot smaller and nearer to universal , there is the rosen inn further north which is the nearest to universal but there’s very little around it apart from tacky tourist shops and tattoo parlours

We stayed at Rosen international, plenty restaurants within walking, Denny’s, Chillis, IHOP, largest McDonald’s on doorstep or we used the I trolley all the time to take us to other restaurants, sea world, outlets etc, Walgreens just over the road aswell, for universal we used the transport provide by Rosen or an Uber was really cheap, usually booked their transfer for going and just got Uber home as it’s first come on return and ques were usually massive.
I would maybe stay at the pointe next time but only because it’s in a different area, you won’t be able to walk to universal from either so I’d choose the location based on restaurants or surrounding area rather than the distance to universal.
