Usually some of the items they most need are toiletries; shampoo, shaving cream, soap, sanitary products etc & baby goods.

Good point as people don't always think of the items you mentioned (me included - I am putting some shower gels in now). We are buying some pringles and small Christmas selection boxes as I'm sure they will be appreciated.

My daughter loves to put food items each week into the supermarket food bank(Morrisons). I always explain to her that it's for families who do not have lots of pennies like us. (She has autism, with severe learning difficulties).

Our local food bank has asked for no more but I had already decided to give to the women's refuge. Gave food (normal and gluten free), sanitary items, bath soak stuff, mince pies and some advent calendars, coins and a little toy.

For those not going out to shops Morrison’s have an option on their food boxes webpage for a £10 food bank donation.

Great reminder , I try and do just a food bank shop every couple of months , last one was two weeks go as I often forgot I’d put things in the trolley until I got home .
It surprising how much you can actually put in a trolley for the price of a couple of coffees, sandwiches and a cake for lunch .
