Anna Maria
How long do most people do for? We’ve 10 nights booked in a villa for August 22, we were going to do 4 nights at the Hard Rock with Universal tickets, but that all depends on park restrictions & masks etc. We are considering time at AMI, we’ve been on about going for years and not got round to it!
Is a week a good amount of time? We would just chill, beach days, eat out, some water sports for the kids (kayaking etc) We will have 2 teens who love nothing more than sitting around a pool doing sod all lol. Dh is really wanting to do a week, in just not sure?

I think a week is fine. It’s a happy balance. If you like beaches, you will love it.

AMI is lovely, and personally I would go for longer, but we like to just chill on a holiday and not get up to much.
How old are your teens? They might be able to hire a golf buggy for a few days so they have their own freedom to get around. Im not sure what the age limits are, but we saw lots of teenagers driving them around the island.

Isn't insurance a great problem for golf buggies, I think there was a long thread on it a while ago.

Oh no, I wouldn't let my kids loose with a shopping trolley let alone a golf cart 😂 They will be 16 & 14 so happy for them to go for a wonder with no wheels involved!

Thanks for the replies all! I’ve seen some gorgeous beach houses for rent on Anna Maria Island Accommodations that would work for us. Just need to weigh up what we actually want...parks or no parks...budget and time off work won’t allow for orlando plus Anna Maria plus universal!

We’ve done varying amounts of time from 3 days up to 2 weeks. We’ve always found plenty to occupy ourselves with. It’s definitely my happy place 😊

Yep!
The americans are OK as either their regular car insurance covers them for it as an extension or the hire company provides it included in the rental but it apparently only covers if you have a US issued license. If we want to rent one we have to get special separate insurance and I think it was really expensive. |
