Mine was Fantasia too. I was 4 and sat absolutely silent and entranced (a miracle apparently). I asked to go and see ‘the dancing mushrooms’ for years afterwards. This was pre-video so had to make do with Disney Time twice a year.

Still my favourite. When I met Sorceror Mickey in HS, I told him I can’t do housework because his film made me scared of brooms!

The Aristocrats. We always went with the whole school in the last week before Christmas. Back in the 70s the theatre had enough seating for us all. We had a choc ice too. So exciting! Especially as we couldn't afford to go to the cinema when I was young, it was such a treat.

In secondary school one year it was James Bond- Moonraker, we all felt so grown up at the switch from animated film to live action.

Simple pleasures.

Well it should have been Herbie goes bananas but the first film was something about a cat from outer space and I got bored so Mum dragged me out... and refused to take me back to a cinema for years. Think I was 3 or 4 at the time!

Jungle Book - our next door neighbours had no children and borrowed me to go with them. I was probably about 4 or 5 and remember being very excited although I’m told I did fall asleep halfway through 😂
