Schoolboy error!
So we stay a couple of nights DVC at AKL before our original booking and tickets at CBR start. This was because I managed to get reward flights.
Anyway on first day tickets start we will still be at AKL in the morning and going to CBR later that day. I had planned to do HS that day but just occurred to me how much easier it would probably be to go to HS from CBR on the Skyliner. First question do I actually need to check in to activate the tickets. And secondly would you drive to HS then on to CBR or perhaps go to CBR first and go to HS on the Skyliner? I’m favouring the later |

Does your cbr booking include dining? I thought tickets were linked to the dining booking?

Yes. I know you can ask when there to start them early and they do but we have enough time and in reality it’s one day although may have to do online check in to activate tickets and dining the day we check in to CBR
I was more kicking myself for going to HS that first day when it probably easier on the skliner. I did look at switching days but though most of our fast passes are still available they wouldn’t be til much later in the day and early starts work for us |

I have just been in a similar situation, due to bringing my flights forward, I booked an extra few days at CBR before moving to Wilderness Lodge which was booked as a package with my tickets.
On the morning we changed hotels, we didn't bother checking in to the second hotel and went straight to a park. We could not get in at the gates though as the tickets were not activated. We were sent to Guest Services outside the park and they called Wilderness Lodge to get us checked in. It got sorted pretty quickly, but I would still recommend you do online check in before you go to the park, just in case Guest Services is busy on your day. As to what route to take that morning, I think personal choice, both options sound straight forward. That is what OP has said yes. The tickets are linked to the second hotel. |
