First off MOST DVC Owners will say "wish we bought earlier" ...

we bought re-sale 2011 at the age of 50! ... don't do Disney theme parks but love to stay onsite and in deluxe accommodation ... runs out in 2042 at OKW so we have another 21 years left and will be 81 so doubt we will use it that long... but you can deed it to another family member if you find out you will not go abroad at that age...

We were over 50 when we bought our first contract. I'm very cautious by nature so only purchased when, thanks to a small inheritance, we were able to pay outright. OKW was the cheapest at the time. Ok it has less years left but since we'll be ancient and unlikely to be flying to Florida in 2042, we were very happy with our purchase and can't wait to get back.

We were on the last day of our holiday.waiting for our airport bus at disney springs and were all shopped out! We saw the DVC stand and decided to go on the 2 hr tour, to 'kill ' time.
We had already checked in luggage at the Virgin check-in desk.
OMG it was the best thing we ever did.
Although I wasn't too keen on Saratoga, when I got back to the hotel (mix up with bus -it decided to get us at the hotel rather than DTD)? we got chatting to another lady who was telling us about AKV.
THe dvc rep at the front desk overheard us and produced some photos.

I immediately fell in love with the place and no sooner was I home, than I was in touch with an agent to buy.
I was 47/48 and have never looked back.

If I was to add on, I'd just choose the cheapest contract I could get for as many points as I could and take pot luck at the 7 month window because I can get the dates and rooms I want at AKV at the 11 month window.

If yoou are booking rooms at BC and YC and they are hard to come by, you may need to book points at at least 1 of these resorts.
Good Luck

Dont let age only be a barrier to enjoying life and living your dreams

EDITED TO SAY-typos corrected.I think
