Car for 5 adults

Looking for opinions on what type of car we should look at getting for 5 adults.
We could get a 7-seater to get all of us in + luggage, but the size is overkill for day-to-day use
Or a larger 5-seater and use Uber for the airport runs.

Thinking option 2 is better, but looking for people's opinions please. Thanks

Depends on 2 factors for me.

If 1 is cheaper than 2 then take 1
If 2 is a lot cheaper than 1 and you will only be doing local runs then option 2

Its looking about £30-40pp (£200 overall) cheaper for option 2, and an Uber is only going to be about $40

Ive always gone for the Tahoe that has 7 seats which has plenty of room for the 5 of us, we have rear seats down on the airport runs and the rest of the time its up and that way the kids arent all in a single row bickering with each other

I also like being up high and having good visibility which helps me with being on the wrong side of the road.

What we see as a big car over here are normal sized cars over there, the roads are bigger, the parking spaces are bigger etc... When we've been with 4 adults and a high back booster we've had a 7 seater 4x4 type and it worked really well, seats down in the boot for luggage and then an extra row so people can space out.

Good point, having 3 adults sit in the back seat together all the time might be a bit much, a 7-seater will allow them to spread out and also get all of the luggage in on airport trips.

I'm a sucker for a mini van. Loads of configurable space, captains chairs and sliding doors.

Uncool here, but so great at what they do. We are getting 2 for 10 of us next visit. Hopefully.

Me too I prefer the Chrysler over the Dodge.

You are on holiday, put comfort over cost for a couple of weeks.
