Ever After Holidays - no problem getting a refund from them last year at all. All money in bank within 2 days of it being cancelled and fantastic customer service. Many others on here will agree.

I use a US agent, it's just like booking with directly with Disney but they handle modifications for you, for example when AP rates are released.

We use our lovely Travel Counsellor, Helen (Cinders Mum on here, helen.knowles@travelcounsellors.com by email).
We currently have 3 trips booked with her - firstly the UK Staycation on the Disney Magic, secondly our January Orlando trip and thirdly our Japan trip which has been postponed twice and is now hopefully November 2022. Travel Counsellors are amazing, the level of service is incredible.

The only travel agent I will trust is myself.
Wouldn't consider using a TA unless I was looking for something very specialist and then I would use a specialist agent for that trip. I also try to avoid third party intermediadarys. I prefer to book directly with the supplier. I just don't want middle men getting in the way. To me they add zero value and cause more problems than they solve. Edited at 04:45 PM. |

I do, me haha! Her name is Rachael, lives in West London. She's very good and spends lots of time researching and will book everything to suit your needs!
Only used a travel agent once in 20 years, always do everything myself!

Back to your question on favourite Travel Agency...
We've used Travel City Direct, Thompson, then TUI the next time and last time Thomas Cook. We were actually on the last Thomas Cook flight from Orlando to land at Gatwick... something we didn't know until we were landing and they announced it. We had great service every time from each of them. We've never used the meetings or services once we've landed. Travel Agent Reps are too expensive for something you can easily source yourself. I have completely fallen out with TUI - what they did after Thomas Cook went out of business was disgraceful. Upping their pricing by 50% was an abuse of trust. This time (September) we've done as others and booked independently with BA flights and sourced the hotel elsewhere. For first timers, I still think having that protection and source of information is worth the extra few pounds that a travel agent costs. Do your research, ask questions in this fabulous forum and most of all enjoy the build up. If you want the end-to-end service, a travel agency - but you'll pay a lot more for it. All about you being happy though!

Travel Counsellors are more like US style specialist TAs rather than the likes of TUI.
You don’t pay any more than booking yourself. Everything is bundled together so in the event of any problems it is all sorted for you. And the level of service is incredible.

For many years it’s been diy bookings which work best for me. However last year we booked flights through Tui, when it was cancelled, they sent a full refund without me even having to ask or chase, I would book with them again but flights from Bristol on Wednesdays were no longer available.
