I’ve had one for a few years now, initially as others have mentioned as a way of using less plastic. I get milk, free range eggs, cheese and yogurts from mine. It is a little more expensive I suppose but worth it to me for supporting local business, plus he never missed a delivery in all the difficult months last year.

We’ve recently started with a milkman. He delivers before 6am every morning. We like less plastic and helping to keep the milkman in a job. We sometimes order juice etc.

Thanks for the really interesting replies, it's lovely to see you all have good reasons for using one. I'm recently dairy free but I see they do oat milk and dh has dairy so may look into it further. I've always bought milk from Tesco and froze it. I'm dairy free for a health reason but always felt uncomfortable about dairy farming, maybe not getting it from the supermarket would be better.

No, apart from when I was a young child, we’ve never had one.
We don’t drink much milk anyway tbh.

We started with one recently. Milk comes around 11pm though rather than early morning.

Ours comes at 3.30am - I know, I hear him ! But I grew up with a milkman and have had one all my married life. I did it to keep him in a job and as the years went on I was pleased that I was supporting local business and using less plastic. So, I feel that it’s worth the extra for all those reasons and also for having fresh milk and never running out. We can change our order upto 9pm the day before and add any other essentials. They were even delivering garden things, such as compost over lockdown

We have had a milkman for many years. We are now only three so we only have 4 pints delivered per week. It is so convenient to have it delivered to the door. At one point we only shopping once every couple of weeks so this works for us.
I must that it was reassuring to know that we could get arrange of groceries delivered regularly if we did have to isolate (we never did manage to a delivery slot with a regular supermarket). |

We’ve had the same milkman for 37 years. Yes, it is more expensive but we can see the cows that produce the milk from our bedroom window and we talk to them when out walking!🐄
