Blinds and/or curtains

Just wondering what everyone does in their home. We’re moving into a new build and I need to plan to have window coverings for when we move in. We currently have blinds and curtains in most rooms. Just blinds in the bathrooms and kitchen. I’m considering not having curtains at all but DH thinks it will look odd. What do you have?

Just blinds in bathrooms and en-suite and kitchen. Shutters and curtains in bedrooms, blinds and curtains in dining room. Shutters and curtains in the lounge. I like to have curtains to dress a window never shut them mind, but I just like them. Personal choice of course.

We have just blinds in the bathroom and the kitchen.

We have blinds and curtains in our living room/dining room. I love shutting the curtains in winter and snuggling on the couch. My mum however never shuts her curtains, so it’s just preference I think.

I think it all depends on what your windows are like.
We have a mixture of both blinds and curtains and Roman blinds. If you are worried that your window wouldn’t looked dressed with just a blind you could always go for a Roman blind and a matching pellet. I have this in my bedroom as we have three windows across one wall and curtains would have just made it look too cluttered.

I have curtains in my lounge bay window, but never pull them as we aren’t overlooked, same in the dining room. All bedrooms have blinds, my bedroom has curtains as well, but they are never pulled, they are just for show. Landing window just has a blind. It think it depends on what room it is really. I would probably go for blinds and no curtains in my lounge if we needed to pull them. I prefer the minimalistic look.

Most people here on our new build estate including us, have wood Venetian blinds throughout their house. We also have curtains with our blinds. White, cream and light grey seems to be extremely popular. We are the odd ones out with oak ones, so much so that I’m considering changing ours.

We have day and night blinds in our kitchen and dining room and plantation shutters in all the other rooms.
The front room, ds room and dd room also have curtains as well as the shutters just for extra black out / warmth

Just in the process of having the windows replaced, for the windows on the south side of the house, I’m having internal blinds fitted within the double glazed units

We only have curtains in bedrooms and living rooms (never close unless really cold) Blinds in ensuite for privacy as glass not that good Nothing in kitchen/family room.

We only close bedroom curtains.

We're not overlooked so don't feel the need to shut anything out.

I think I’m finding the doors in the kitchen the hardest to dress. They go out, like in the photos below, and I don’t know if I want blinds in case they detract from it, or if just curtains would be better. We have just blinds on our current patio doors but they’re not the same shape.

I’ve also arranged for the tv to be on the wall with the pictures on, which would mean the sofa facing the other direction, and I’m not sure if that’s the right choice either...
