Talking Solo Caribbean Cruise on Braemar booked...

Very excited as I've booked myself on Fred Olsen's Braemar, for a 2 week Caribbean cruise in 6 weeks (thru Passion for Cruises).

I've been on the lookout for a decent priced Caribbean cruise for a while, but single prices are normally just about the same as two people going.

Has anyone here been on the Braemar? If so, can you give me any hints and tips?

Hi! Braemar is a lovely, small, friendly ship, if you are travelling solo, then look out for the breakfast table for single travellers.
Food will be plentiful and tasty, the lunches are fabulous, there is always a hot pudding option which I love!

Evening attire is usually smart casual. There will be approx three formal evenings on a two week cruise, so perhaps take a cocktail or longer dress for those, and sometimes a red white and blue night which is fun and totally optional. You can take anything in those colours its very laid back.

You might get to have a sailaway party in the caribbean, with drinks, dancing and music up on deck. There is a facebook page for fred olsen that often shows small video clips etc might be worth a look. There will also be daily quizzes, bingo, activities on deck etc. Craft classes, bridge classes, and dance instructors for ballroom etc.

Am sure you will have a fantastic time, am very jealous! I am sailing on Braemar twice this year, in May and July. I love Fred Olsen, the onboard staff are just amazing.

Thanks for that. Was hoping there would be some sort of solo meetup. Think there's gonna be quite a few solo travellers on this one, as the price was so good.

I'll take a look for the Facebook page. Had hoped to find others on the cruise on Cruise Critics Roll Call, but not many seem to do it for Fred Olsen cruises.

Yes cruise critic quiet for freds, as it mostly attracts usa cruisers.

The facebook page I recommend is ‘fred olsen cruise group’, it is full of posts from other cruisers.

Happy to help. Dont forget you need at least six months from date of return of your cruise on your passport. Its a new policy of sailing on Freds.
