Help - how to move disney hotel booking by 18 mths!

Hi

My sister has just booked her wedding in Jamaica which means we have no choice but to either cancel or move our disney holiday We have booked direct with disney for April 2019. We need to move the booking to August 2020. As the disney dining offer isn't yet open for next year I need to know:
A. Can I move the booking.
B. Is there a charge.
C. How can I move the reservation and keep the free dining.

I really want to salvage this holiday and avoid losing our deposit.

Any help would be appreciated

Unfortunately, I don't think you'll be able to move the booking and keep free dining. You can only do this if the free dining offer for 2020 has been released (and who knows if they'll offer free dining for 2020?), and your full payment will be due by then. You may be able to move it, then amend it if free dining is released, but check on the costs first to make sure they're not more than forfeiting the deposit for your current trip and just rebooking fresh in April when Disney release their offer.

Yes that was what I was thinking but wondered if anyone had experience of doing this?

Hi
I had to move our planned holiday from July 18 to July 19 last May
I was able to keep free dining as free dining offer for 2019 was available at the time
We were due to stay at Saratoga (which by the way we absolutely loved) but couldn’t keep Saratoga as was more than 11 months out
So changed to the one hotel I have always wanted to stay in the Yacht and Beach Club
To change cost me £50 admin fee and our deposit was carried over
I was told I would not be able to cancel and rebook again as I would then lose the deposit
Best of luck

So you can’t move the booking more than once?

You can move your booking as many times as you want. But at the moment you could only move your booking to another time in 2019 to retain free dining plan. You could do this, wait until April and if free dining comes out, move it again.

Unless your new booking is more expensive, there will be a £50 admin charge for each change, so depending on your deposit, you might not be any better off than just cancelling.
