We live in a Cul de Sac that was built in the late 40's early 50's

10 houses all with drives. I have just counted up and there are 23 cars. Up until 6 months ago there was 26

It changes as Children grow up and leave home.

But in addition there can be builders vans, cleaners cars, deliveries etc etc.

The very thought of not having a proper pavement and insufficient parking fills me with dread.
Another ‘totally agree’! We live in a 60’s house in a spacious cul de sac (complete with pavements, streetlights and adopted by the Council). Most houses have two cars but they all park on their own drives. Neighbours are friendly and help each other out, but don’t socialise.
It’s these external factors that make it a lovely place to live. We can adapt and extend the house to how we want it and have done over the past 35 years. In fact none of the houses look much like they did when they were built.
The thought of living in a new build is very seductive but for me the wider environment and its practicality is just as important.
