We’ve done Tampa before and drove. It didn’t take as long as I thought. I wouldn’t go any further out though.

Fort Lauderdale isnt too bad. Think best if you do first night in a hotel before driving onwards.
Depends on flight times, esp if Norwegian. As later landing slots I think.

We've done Tampa at least 4 times now and always hire a car to get to Orlando.

Agreed. Esp if you are staying lower down in Haines or championsgate area.

Are you thinking of somewhere with you can get to by public transport or other - non driver?

Better option may be to indirect flight for cheapness and still land at MCO.

I suspect the OP is looking at flying into an alternative airport as a way of saving costs, so that really is a ridiculous suggestion.

We've flown into Miami a few times and stayed overnight, driving up to Orlando the next day. Both times it's saved us £1500 compared to flying direct to Orlando & we actually really enjoy the drive & stopping at the beach on the way to & from.

we were once really delayed into Orlando and left the airport at about 10pm. Even that fairly short drive was hard work, so I'd recommend a hotel on arrival and an early start , just from a safety perspective.

OP did you mean other than driving? If you don't want to hire a car, I would stick to MCO or Sanford. To save money we often add a stop on the way to MCO. Even flying via Miami to MCO can work out cheaper.
