I know I have been guilty of this - and I think you are definitely right.

I would be interested to note the difference in some people's comments if we were all talking face to face rather than online... I always try to be polite but I do think some people are more aggressive than necessary, just because they can't see the other person. I think this is an issue across the Internet in general, not just here.

We will all have differences of opinion but I think sometimes it is worth remembering there is another human reading our words if we are tempted to be ruder than we might be otherwise... and I am mostly speaking to myself here
