What's a travelers cheque? ! Can't remember the last time I used those. I use fair FX card topped up and a bit of cash online via Tesco. If we get low I just top up the FX card while there .

For cash I usually find Thomas Cook and John Lewis the most competitive on the high street. Usually use the former as can specify notes denomination when you pick up. Rates if don't preorder from TC are very poor though.

Currency cards I used to use a Travelex card and Fairfx. Both absolutely fine but now use Revolut most of the time, which is far better and gives better rates.

Haven't used travellers cheques for over 20 years and personally can see no practical reason why they'd be useful.

I also have a post office credit card with zero foreign fees - although recently I have got a Curve card which allows me to add all my current bank and credit cards and use them to pay with no foreign exchange charges so I suspect that may well become my default choice.
