Mobile Car hire, but no credit card

Hi hopefully someone can help!
We are heading to Orlando in November. We were hoping to rent a car but found out we need a credit card.
We don’t have one, is there anyway we can hire without one?

I would never travel without a credit card - what if u have a medical emergency how would you pay for any bills? I do however think you can use a debit card to hire a car though I personally would never use one for that.
If you know what company your hiring from give them a quick call and they will inform you and put your mind at rest

You can use a debit card instead as long as it got the Visa sign but they do put a hold on the card or they did .

OP. Our Debit Cards are fine, the Americans dont have the same ones as us backed by Visa etc hence no debit cards warnings shown on the websites.

Loads on here use debit cards for car hire all the time. The worst they will do is put a hold on your card and they sometimes ask to see proof of a return flight namely your E Ticket.

There is one company that wont accept them though, I think it's Sixt. I will check.

Usually true. However some UK banks have started issuing non-embossed cards. More common as debit cards but some credit cards - virgin money is one.

They are great for your wallet as thinner, but most hire companies will only accept emobossed, raised number, cards
