Uber alone...

Another solo female (have done a few solo trips) and have used Uber quite a few times in Orlando, mainly to get within Disney, but also to/from the outlets, Florida Mall, Universal.

Will say that I feel more safe using Uber than taxis in Orlando as Uber app can track location, and also you get a star rating of the drivers when you book. That being said I had one slightly unnerving experience with a taxi in Orlando a few years ago so that might be why!

Oh and I always sit at the back of a taxi/Uber.

I would never sit in the front unless you have a full car.

As for feeling safer in Uber/Lyft/mears you'll find they are generally the same drivers it just depends which day you call them as to what "service" they are offering

I've do both, some drivers open the back door ( electric doors) but can depend on my mood and how tired I am

I agree duchy. I went to meet some one in Vegas alone. No problems at all. New the journey was being tracked, and guy was lovely telling me about going to college to become a doctor. I would have no hesitation using again. No different to the risk of a taxi really, but with the benefit of knowing all the guys details.

Used both Uber and Lyft on my solo trip in October, no issues at all. Agree with others that I prefer a 'tracked' ride, makes me feel much safer.

I'm a female and did a solo trip last September. I was 54 at the time (55 now) and stayed on site at POFQ. I did 2 days at Universal/ Islands of Adventure and one day at Discovery Cove - used Uber on all three days both ways and had no problems whatsoever. On the contrary I quite enjoyed the experience. I'm used to catching buses everywhere at home and actually riding in a car felt really luxurious to me!

I sit in the back. Nothing to do with safety - I just don't like sitting in the front, even if with friends/family.
