How hot is August usually?
Going next August with my mum - she works in a school so is limited to holidays.
I went in November just gone and I think the temperature was hotter than average...hitting 34c some days and humidity in the high 90s. It cooled down the last couple of days which was great for me as I hit my limit of heat I can handle! Is August similar on average? Or is it a lot hotter?

We have been in October, May and August. I found it hot every visit. However the only times I have ever been cold in Florida were in August. That was because of getting very wet in the afternoon thunderstorms. One time we had just arrived at Epcot and we immediately ran for cover. Unfortunately we were soaked though and my daughter and I took ages to warm up. Another time we were staying for one night at the hard rock. Again we got soaked from a thunderstorm. We sheltered in a shop for ages but the rain just didn't let up. I ended up going back to the room and shivering under the bed covers. That said August is actually my favourite time out of the times we have visited and overall we have been lucky with the weather.

its hotter in August, and humidity is high all the time. I was also in Orlando in very early November 2018, yep it got humid again then and I didn't like it (it had been cooler with no humidity our first full week in late October and it was lovely, temps in high 20s, low humidity).
Our first trip was last 2 weeks of August 2015 - temps were in mid-high 30s the whole time, with more frequent rain/thunderstorms, and humid. |

It’s not so much the heat that’s a problem in August, it’s the humidity. It was 95% humidity last August most days, along with the 35’ or more heat. I can hand the heat, been in Zante with a heatwave of 42’ but its made bareable with fresh air and a breeze, but you don’t get that fresh air in Florida in August, it’s so humid! But the one thing that Florida has over a summer holiday in Zante (weatherwise) is air con. Florida has aircon everywhere, the Greek island/canaries do not!
But, we’ve been twice in August and coped fine, lots of air con breaks, drink loads of water, take shade and hAve a sit down when you need to and get out early breaking the day up with a swim in the pool before heading out again at night!

Aug will def be a lot hotter than Nov. Also likely to get more afternoon rain showers.
We regularly go in Aug though and its fine. You just have to learn how to manage it. Up and out early and pool/shade time later.

We went last August, it was hotter than the surface of the sun (felt like it), in the 30s. Lots of shows, pool time, wandering through shops was done. It cooled down to a pleasant temperature most evenings.
Last summer the UK was super hot and I found that worse because of no air con and having to work.. |

As others have said,August is usually very hot and humid - I remember sitting on a bench in AK a few years ago and it felt like a steam room! However, it is manageable- make the most of early mornings and later evenings and duck into shops,QS restaurants and attractions like hall of presidents and carousel of progress to cool off.

We’ve been a few times in August and the temp has ranged between about 32 and 35 degrees. With the humidity the feel like was low 40s.
We cope well with the humidity you get used to it and it doesn’t feel so hot when it clouds over in an afternoon. The sunny afternoons though we’re running for shade or heading to the waterparks. Agree that the hot summer here last year felt worse than Florida in August as there’s so many places you can cool down over there. Edited at 04:29 PM. |

Exactly, I always found heatwaves in the UK much worse because of being unable to sleep due to the lack of a/c.
