How safe is it walking to hotels?
Hi
I’m looking to book The Sequoia Lodge for three nights in the school summer holidays. It’s just DD(9) and myself, and I having never stayed in the hotels before, I wondered how safe it is walking to and from the parks late at night after fireworks, and early morning for the magic hours? Are there always lots of people about?

Perfectly safe. I stayed at Sequoia Lodge and the walk is lovely, aorund the lake. All on open paved pathways, lots of other people around.
Absolutely nothing to worry about. |

As above. Perfectly safe, plenty of other people walking. SL is quite close to the parks. We stayed at Santa Fe, it took us about 15 minutes to walk. We didn’t use the shuttle buses once, it was quicker to walk.

We’ve never felt unsafe walking back. My 11 yo and I stayed out until 11pm one night and walked back to the Cheyenne without any reason to worry.

We have also stayed at SL and it. Really is fine. Out of the park and through Disney Village and then a quick walk past the Hotel New York and you are at SL. Well lit and usually lots of happy people around, enjoying their holidays.

I think that's one of the big benefits in staying onsite - feels safe, enclosed and the ability to walk is great.

We stayed at SL over Christmas and after the first night of waiting nearly an hour for a bus we decided to walk the next morning. (We’d never walked before) and tbh I wish we had done sooner. It’s a quick walk, there was always people about and for the rest of the trip we walked to and from the hotel, we much preferred it. Not once got the bus after this.

There will always be people about and most of the area you will walk will have security entrances. I actually feel safer walking than leaving to get the bus!
