Beach stop before or after Orlando?

We've decided that this time we would like a couple of nights in clearwater either before or after our holiday in Orlando, as flights to Tampa are slightly cheaper and we can use our points for the hotel, but we can't decide whether we should have 2 nights before transferring to disney and then villa, or after orlando?

What would you guys recommend?

We've booked a week in between. We will have a week in Orlando followed by a week at the coast and then back to Orlando for a week for Easter. We land in Fort Lauderdale and come back via Tampa but we wanted to split the stay up. We usually do it this way and we find it works very well for us.

After orlando to have a few days chilling out before flying home and back to normality! If I did it at the start of a holiday I would be reluctant to move my backside from my lounger & leaving the strawberry margaritas would make me sad 😂😂

On our first visit we had 2 weeks at WDW and then a week in Clearwater. It was perfect as it took the week for my aching feet to recover! We are doing a night at St Pete's in the middle of our trip this time.

The last time we flew from Tampa, we spent the final night at St Pete's Beach at the Grand Plaza. A bit more relaxed than trying to get down the I4 to catch a plane.
Also, nice way to top up the tan, rather than getting burnt at the start of the holiday.
