Walt Disney World Resort Hotels to Introduce New Payment Card Policy Beginning Feb. 27
My understanding is that the CC or DC held by Disney is now incrementally added to
The authorization hold placed on the guest’s credit card on file will be any remainder due on the reservation plus an extra $100 for incidental expenses. In the event that room and/or MagicBand charges exceed the original $100 hold, supplemental holds will be added to the card on file automatically. Authorizations on the guest’s credit card will not exceed the current balance due plus the $100 incremental charges. On another sire . People are saying that they will incur more charges ( ie currency exchange) as rather than paying at the end they’ll be paying throughout the holiday Which means you Have to pay it off every few days Not sure how that’s being read but ... I don't read that as 'we will charge your card every time it gets to $100'
I read it as 'we will put a hold of $100 on your card, if you exceed that we will add another $100 hold' which I suppose is reasonable to ensure the guest has enough funds to clear their balance at the end of the stay |

I saw this this morning and I read it like squish. I can imagine too many people have the card declined as it’s soo easy to pop on the magic band . Most hotels do this anyway.
You don’t have to put a card on the account apparently but then can’t charge to the band ie like offsite guests .

It's a $100 hold plus a hold on any additional spending until you reduce the balance by asking them to charge that card or pay by any other method.
For example I check in, agree to charging then go to the bar and charge $75 then a restaurant for $350 the hold on my card will be increased to $525. |

Just get a Halifax Clarity card or any other CC that doesn't charge fees for purchases overseas.

Am I correct that we can not give them a card at all as we won’t charge anything to our room and will only use magic bands for FPs and the QSDP. Or do they have to take the $100 hold regardless?

Sorry if this is a silly question, I’ve never stayed onsite before. So my intention was too swipe my CC on check in then pay off the balance every 2 or 3 days to ensure it doesn’t get out of hand with my Revolut card. Is it ok to work like that?
