No one has offered a Worcester Bosh boiler. I'm not sure why?

We have a Worcester Bosch but Valliant was our other choice.

My husband designed heating and ventilating systems for schools and a whole host of other large buildings before he retired. He is not at home just now so I can’t ask him but all I can say is at home we have a Baxi back boiler which is so old I can’t remember when we got it. It’s never given us any problems and although it’s ancient we are reluctant to change.

Like Mr. Morrow I don’t like combis.

We just had a Worcester Bosch fitted by a plumber I've known since he was at school, ( a few to many years ago to mention) anyway , I had option of baxi or Worcester Bosch. With Worcester Bosch I got 10yr warranty and wasn't much more in cost.

We’re in the process of replacing our boiler and have gone for a Worcester Bosch (we’ve got a Worcester Bosch at the moment but is about 17 years old and just about limping through!).

Wouldn’t go near an ideal boiler ever again. Moved into a new build in 2004 and it was nothing but trouble. Think every bit that could be replaced was, twice. Eventually replaced it in 2017 when the flue cracked and discovered that they had stopped making spares for it. Now have Worcester Bosch and bills have gone down £30 a month.

Isn't it sad we keep seeing posts on here and indeed everywhere about bolier replacements and stories of people being happy as they have had 15 years out of their current one!

I know modern ones are very energy efficient and mine is probably a Z rating. But we design new stuff that has built in obsolescence.
Very canny bit of work by the boiler manufacturers.

Mine has a thermocoupler and a boiler! Thats it.

Every year British Gas service it (last Weds) and say they can't get parts - yes you can
Then they admit the old ones were brilliant albeit not efficient.

Unfortunately nothing is built to last anymore. I think it is a deliberate thing to make us keep spending. My washing machines seem to last little over a couple of years.

My cousin owns a local gas services company. He’s installed central heating in both of our houses and has used Valliant boiler in both. Serviced every year and we are very happy.

We are in the process of looking at new boilers- ours is 39 years old and thought we needed to update 🙄
Rediculous to think that new boilers have such short working years. Maybe we should think again
