Davey Crockett without car
Hi,
How inconvenient would it be to stay at davey crocket without a car. We'd probably stay in the parks all day, possibly return back for a bit for a rest then out for an evening meal one night (3 nght stay). Is there a local taxi / uber who would be able to drive us with little notice (in off peak season). Weve stayed in hotel new york before, but did not like the shared rooms (2 adults, 2 kids). Also, are the units basicly done up static caravans? Cheers! |

Excited about Disney

Unfortunately you will need to drive as most taxis refuse to go to DCR. They are basically static caravans, but they are really nice and so is the pool.
Another option is Villages Nature which is co-owned by Disney and Centre Parcs. It has a fantastic pool and a bus to Disney. The chalets are much more modern. You only get the Disney hotel benefits (EMT/free parking) if you book as a package through Disney and some disney specific travel agents. Also, the packages generally only come with a 2 days park ticket rather than for length of stay like other Disney hotels. |

We're at Davy Crockett Ranch right now. As others have said it's strictly self drive only - I don't believe (and have yet to see) taxis serving the resort.
The drive down from Calais is simple enough (22 euros for tolls) and takes about 2-3 hours including a stop. If you're flying in, maybe hire a car? The cabins are basically static caravans, with 2 bedrooms (a double with ensuite and a triple with separate toilet and shower room), air con, TV, WiFi, kitchenette, decking area and BBQ. The pool is the best we've had staying onsite and Crockett's Tavern does a great evening buffet. Otherwise as a PP has said Villages Nature is just next door, and does have a shuttle bus but it doesn't offer length of stay park passes. Edited at 03:28 PM. |
