Mobile Ticketmaster - Resale tickets?

Just gone to buy some tickets on Ticketmaster and they are resale tickets and are more than the face value cost - only a couple of pounds more, but not sure if this is right? I’ve looked at the venue’s site and there’s none available other than singles, which I don’t want. Would you risk it? I’ve never heard of resale tickets before, it is a genuine thing? Thanks!

Yes, it's just a way these tickets sites make more money by allowing ticket holders who no longer want to go to events to resell.

I have bought resale tickets a number of times from twickets and Ticketmaster. In normal.times everything has worked well. Esp.with Ticketmaster if a e-ticket it is sometimes just reissued to you. I do double check the ticketing rules for the gig / venue to make sure that resales are allowed and accepted. Some often say no resales or will say no resales other than twickets or Ticketmaster resellers etc. As this prevents price gouging.

I have recently done this three times in covid-land.

I through Ticketmaster resale. Gig cancelled and I got my money back.

1 through twickets. Gig cancelled and the venue refunded the original seller. Who then contacted me and made me a refund.

1 through twickets. Gig cancelled and issued refund to original purchaser. They have not refunded me. So I am out of pocket and they have been paid twice. It is against twickets rules to do this but hey ho.

So Ticketmaster I think you should be covered ok. But they will say what their gig cancelled approach is so check that out.

I tend on Ticketmaster resale tickets to buy e-tickets gate ready which are sent from Ticketmaster as I know they cancel them off so they cannot be sold more than once.

Yes they are genuine, I have sold on ticketmaster resale site before. It gives someone the chance to go at the same price they paid.
Unlike Viagogo. I was totally ripped off by them..

Buy them you’ll enjoy the gig. 😊👍
