Hiya, I'm guessing the videos you may have watched would've been of the Halloween night in the Studios which are more adult themed (if I'm right I think it's for over 12s), these are usually a few days before actual halloween. I would love to do this night, but with our kids there's no chance!
We LOVED the halloween party in the disney park, hence the sole reason for booking this years holiday around the 31st There are lots of character meet 'n' greets, a special show on the Molly Brown boat, the fantalusion parade, when we were there 2 yrs ago Stitch was DJ at the open air disco. Just so much going on all over the park, hard to fit it all in!
It's also the one night that everyone gets to dress up (if you want to that is), already got our costumes sorted
Tickets are £34 each for the party tickets this year, times for the party are 8.30pm > 1am.

Edited at 09:39 PM.

Yep we booked our tickets at the same time as booking our holiday! We booked through our friend who works for a travel agents (maybe not the cheapest way but easiest way for us!).
I can't seem to find where you book them from online but maybe you could phone and book the tickets via Disney direct?

I didn't go to the party last year as it was too late.. .and our kids weren't bothered.

But during the day they had lots of cm's around giving out packets of haribos etc near all the meet and greets.

There was a man doing pumpkin carvings outside plaza gardens, he was amazing

its not like the American parks in that respect - no major trick or treating although you might find a few CMs around with a bucket of small packets of Haribo to hand out to the kids.
