Does anyone remember this swing

Dh and friends used to get it swing until the seat was almost touching the bars then the person that stayed on until it was just about to hit the bars was the winner. Insane.
Yes I remember a swing like that in the park in fact I think I’ve got a couple of photos with me standing by it

Kids today don't know what they are missing. Current Health and Safety would have had a field day when we were young😁.

I split my head open giving someone a 'duck under' in our local swings, (which I was banned from) ... that went down well with my parents who were ready to go out to the local social club.

Yep one of the playgrounds I went to as a child had one and we used to love it. At the weekend took our grand daughter to the park where our sons used to play when small and they had a modern version of it which our eldest decided to try out (purely to see if suitable for his 11 month old in a few years time). They also still had the large rocking horse which seems to have vanished from several parks. All children using the equipment were having a great time.

I used to love flying off the swing... tried to do it again a few years ago to show dd 😱 and scared the bejeebers out of myself ... my knees hurts, my ankles hurt, I jarred my back... fun times eh?! 🤣

Loved this. Never took it as high as the crossbars.
