New England 'Marmite' Flydrive - Final Words

Day 11 - The Long Way Up

Final Words

The marmite test was now complete, and the folks enjoyed many aspects of the experience. Ma wasn’t too keen on swapping hotels every day or so due to her fear of repacking, but had enjoyed the destinations and food. Pa had enjoyed his Birthday, the driving and the whales. We had enjoyed spending quality time with the family, and even though staying in haunted hotels, not actually seeing any ghosts, and of course the cheeky First Class upgrade on the way out!

I’d recommend a fly drive to anyone, especially if you like a bit of tame adventure and exploration on your holidays, it’s really beneficial to investigate the highlights of each place before you arrive to get the most of your brief visits. You also get the feeling you’re on a holiday, in a holiday in a holiday as every morning you’re heading for a new and different location.

I also recommend the New England area; we visited 5 states in 10 days, each one different and fantastic in their own ways. There is obviously so much more to see and do in these areas, so there’s good reason to return again and again – as we’re trying to do.

Hope you’ve enjoyed our trip report, we certainly enjoyed the trip!

Fab trip reports - I've thoroughly enjoyed reading them especially as we are doing a fly drive through New England next year. Can't wait now!

A fab trip guys...definitely a "marmite love it trip" in my opinion

Great to read the stories that went with the slide show at work...

So now it's just waiting for the fun and games in Jan to start

Thank you for your trip reports - really enjoyed them. Many a time I have flown back across the pond and gone into work at BA from the flight - yawn yawn. That was back in the days that reservations was at TBC.

Thanks for reading, it's very surreal heading straight back into work, especially having to explain to the boss that you were there for the start of your shift - in the landing stack a few miles above the airport! But at least you never get that "Monday" feeling as you're too tired to care!
