Anyone here ever been to a gig on their own?
There's two gigs I really want to go to this year, but don't know anyone else who wants to go, especially as their in London (I live in Birmingham), I've missed so many gigs in the past due to no one I know wanting to tag along. One of my friends I asked just said "why don't you go by yourself, I do it all the time", have never really thought about it before, but not sure I'd really fancy it, especially the waiting around, I mean once the band are on I guess it doesn't really matter.
Anyone else ever been to a gig by themselves? How did you find it? |

My son and his cousin had tickets to post Malone on Tuesday but his cousin fell ill and my son refused to go alone! I was really annoyed as I had paid for both tickets and DH has booked a half day from work to drive them all the way from the midlands to Manchester and I couldn’t understand why he wouldn’t go alone but in the end he found someone else to go so all was good!

Yes, quite a few times. Never thought anything of it tbh. Particularly if it's in a large venue, are the thousands of other people going to enjoy the gig really going to notice you don't know the person next to you? Just turn up close to the start time if you don't fancy the wait.
In a small venue, I might feel differently. But my days of those gigs are over. Headliners only. Edited at 05:40 PM. |

Yes - I went to see Will Smith in Blackpool alone - it was fantastic and I wouldn’t let being solo stop me seeing anything I really wanted to😊

Many, many years ago my wife's brother was getting married in Walthamstow. The wife went up on the Friday.
At the time, I was stationed at RNAS Yeovilton and due to a serviceability problem, I had to work the morning before departing for the wedding at lunchtime. I was driving round the N Circular, when I saw the Twin Towers of Wembley in the distance. I crumbled and broke. I was never that fond of the wife's family. I bought a ticket from a tout and it has to be said that Bruce Springsteen was magnificent (Born in the USA tour, around 1985). I got to the wedding at 2230 and strangely, a row. Surprisingly, I am no longer married to that lady.
