We often made sandwiches / wraps if we were going all day. Also got the US lunchables equivalent a few times. We would then get something like an ice cream as a treat. We also really like the giant mickey head cookies!

I’m sure I’m tempting abuse here (! ) but I have a case with lots of savoury snacks already! My husband thinks I’m mad, but I’ve read so many posts where people have commented on how much prices have shot up, and I’m so worried about running out of money that I’m stocked up! I’d far rather take some bits with us and know we have plenty of money to enjoy ice creams and some treats in the parks.

The only "abuse" you're likely to get is from unhelpful people who patronisingly advise that they have shops in the USA. I'm often surprised that they have colour TV and running water as well.

When we declare coffee the officer often says "You can get that here sir"

We will be taking teabags, cereal bars and some variety packs of cereals. I think we will be taking the squished juice things as well.

We are onsite for our first 10 nights so I don't really want to be bothered with having to go to the supermarket - no matter how many they have in America or how big they are. Shopping just doesn't do it for me when I'm on holiday so the fewer times I go and the less I have to get, the better.

We take a couple of tubes of Pringles, belvitas, biscuits, sweets, chewing gum, polos... that’s all I can think of right now.

It saves us so much money when we’re in the parks. If we feel hungry we’ll just have a little snack and it does the trick half the time.

We are not big eaters so will always have breakfast in the villa, usually buy the cinnamon fruit loaf which is glorious toasted.

We don't take anything with us food wise from the UK but as we only go to state parks now most often there are no food facilities so we have to take our own out with us. We take chilly type bottles for flavoured cold drinks and freeze water bottles. Keep all in a cool box in the car.

All the supermarkets have pre made or will make up filled baguette (almost the size of a french stick) these are about $5 each and will easily be cut up into four/five portions, saves buying lots of sandwich fillers and there are loads of variety to chose from. So 1/4 of a sandwich and a few crisps/chips = cheap lunch

For snacks we just buy a large bag of sourdough pretzels and they are easy to carry around and enough for those odd hunger pangs while our stomachs adjust to the time difference.

That’s a good tip about the baguette rolls Chilli-Pepper, I didn’t know that. Would make a nice change from soft rolls made in the villa, tho I did buy our Yeast Extract this morning so DH will be happy!

Teabags! A few cereal bars/snacky bits (obv no meat/dairy!) that we'll either eat on the plane or in first few days, not too much really, buying American food in the supermarket is part of the fun but I'll take a few of the 'boring' bits as no point buying those when could be buying all sorts of flavours of M&Ms!

You need to check out the usa's range of gum, they have some amazing flavours, way more than we have here - cinnamon bun flavour is awesome.
