Tumble dryer problem

I have this stupid condenser dryer that is totally useless - takes forever to dry things and switches itself off randomly even when things are still wet. However lately it has started effecting my fleece products doesn't matter how low a temp I put it on anything fleece based blankets/dressing gown ect comes out with hard crunchy patches that feel like the fibres have been melted? Not sure what's going on
anyone had anything like this happen?

I'm in the same boat as u, mine has started to take 3 hrs to dry what used to take half that time, luckily I don't have the crunchy problems

Just had a quick look on the tinternet and a new one is just under £200, not what I need at the moment when I'm trying to get my spends together for our holiday

Is the condenser the one with a white plastic pipe that that has to hang out of a window/outside? If it is Undo it where it attaches to the bottom of the machine, ours wasnt drying properly and when we took it off it was full of water and fluff, when we cleaned it out and reattached it worked like new

A condenser dryer is one that collects the water and needs emptying.

Op, I think it’s time for a new one, we replaced ours recently and the difference is massive.

Mine is pretty old but it's performance always improves when I take the condensing unit outside and hose away all the fluff thats stuck in it.

I melted bits of my mattress cover in it. I think even on the low setting, its not suitable for fleece things.

I spent half an hour taking the filters out and cleaned all the fluff out from where they sat, I then rinsed the big filter with hot water, just put it back together and it's back to its normal quick self

Your main tumble dryer filter should be cleaned of fluff after every use. Well the instructions on ours says so.

some do say that

We don't get a lot of fluff - mainly cotton and linen clothes taken out before totally dry.

(so I can hang them up crease free in the airing cupboard - lazy - no ironing)
