Planning days + fastpass help/advice?
I've been looking at which park we want to visit each day and as on previous trips to WDW, I have started looking at the possible crowd levels for each day. However I haven't been to WDW since 2013 so I've never had to deal with pre booking my fast passes for each day (I'm a bit nervous about this) I really do want to secure some of the rides we haven't seen such as the Avatar rides and the Frozen ride.
So my question is a bit of a chicken and an egg one?! Do I just try to get whatever fastpass's I can for each day regardless off which park they are in and go to that park on that day or do I be strict and stick to low crowd days to pick the park of the day and then book my fastpass's accordingly? Thanks |

If you are staying on-site, the primary decision point will likely be which park has extra magic hours that day.
If you are not staying on site, I would recommend making a plan of which park to go on which day based on a nice overall holiday, e.g. space out the waterparks as rest days, and just imagine yourself living your plan, e.g. I spent so much time walking around Epcot in the sun yesterday, a morning in Typhoon Lagoon would be nice. Here is a plan of ours for next year if you want to take any inspiration; i.ibb.co/843knsy/planner.jpg Once you have your days in order, then try and get FP's. There are other ways to plan, but I like this method; I am in control of what my holiday is likely to look like based on knowing ourselves, as opposed to being dictated by available FPs or crowd levels :P |

I always choose which parks we’ll be in on which days before I start planning FPs. The Dibb FastPass Availability tool could help you cross reference your choice of park with the likelihood of getting the big ticket FPs on that day, e.g. Flight of Passage and Slinky Dog FPs tend to be unavailable for the first couple of days of the 60 day window, so it might be better to plan AK & HS park days for later in the holiday. If you want to go into full planning mode I’d recommend joining Touring Plans which allows you to make daily plans for each park and shows expected wait times. In my experience it makes choosing FPs much easier! 😊

Do you know roughly how far ahead of time Disney release the park hours including the EMH's? We are going in May 2020.
Thank you |

Generally, this would influence me as to which park to avoid regardless of staying on/off site. I occasionally use them and hop to another park but rarely.
I tend to pick a crowd calendar and use that as a guide as to which park may be quietest and go from there. In peak months I may avoid planning park days at the weekend. If I do it'll only be until early afternoon.
