Mobile Mid September, offsite, crowds & worrying

Hello

We’ve been to Florida few times before but not for several years.

Decided to go back this year as we could finally do September - after the schools have gone back as now my daughter is uni and doesn’t go back there til Oct.

We are staying offsite in a villa. So will only get 30 day fast pass option. My daughter has epilepsy and so can’t do long stays in the park. She also needs to get enough sleep so we usually head to a park 9ish then go back to villa after lunch. Then go back to parks in the evening.

Now I’ve seen galaxys edge opening and all the parks doing emh.

I’m worried it’s going to be SO busy we won’t get any fast passes And even heard talk that parks have closed due to capacity so as we dont get there super early we might even struggle to get in.

We choose to stay offsite in a villa so when my daughter is resting we can leave her in peace, everyone in one hotel room just doesnt work for us.

I know we can probably get a disability pass which will allow us to get a return time for a ride. However will the crowds be that bad that even getting around/nto the parks will be awful.

A few years ago we flew out at the end of December and the first couple of days the parks were rammed and it was really hard to cope. By the 4th January it was amazing And you didn’t feel like you were shuffling along In a crowd everywhere you went.
Was hoping sept would be like that.

Not even bothered about doing GE but would like to do other stuff at DHS.

Any suggestions?

We don’t know what it’s going to be like unfortunately. Disney are clearly trying to spread the crowds by having extra EMH so hopefully that’ll have an impact. There are some theories that after opening day crowds will die down as many people just want to be there for opening. I’m hoping some people change plans to December now we know Rise of the Resistance is opening then. Personally I don’t think the rest of the parks will be too bad. There are lots of people who can’t do September due to having children of school age and I doubt they’ll change plans just for Galaxy’s Edge.

Like people have said - it’s really a guessing game as to what impact GE will have on Disney World as a whole. GE has been well managed in Cali but Disney World is much more of a tourist trap.

My gut feeling is that it won’t be too bad though because of the extra extra magic hours. I know you won’t benefit from those extra hours but I think it will spread crowds out as much as possible. It will probs still be busier than typical of September, GE may be a no go area.

We won’t truly know how things will be though until it opens. And even then it’s going to be playing it by ear. My plan of action is to book fast passes for 10am, 11am and 12pm - and once they’re done and we’ve gotten an idea for how busy the park we’re in is...make a decision on whether to stay or move to another park. It’s going to be a holiday of park hopping on Disney buses to wherever seems quietest. I’m okay with that...but it won’t be ideal for everyone.
