Star Wars Galaxys Edge opening
Hi all, i hope you dont think this is a silly question, because it's a bit like asking how long a piece of string is, but because we havent done any research or any reading up whatsoever on this new Star Wars land, is it going to be a silly question to ask... will it be bedlam?
The only reason we mention it, as we aren't personally interested in it, as Star Wars doesn't interest us at all, but do any REALLY good dibbers who spend a lot of time looking into these sorts of openings by Disney, could tell us what is likely to happen? We will be visiting all 4 Disney Parks end of Sept, a month after the big opening, so what your advice be please? Would you stay well away and save your money, or do you think its worth forking out £800 for a trip to Disney that could be a living hell, because this is what we picture, but obviously I would imagine that could be completely wrong/right. As I say, we have done no reading up on this, or have no idea what Disney expect visitor wise, so im wandering if we could take some good old Dibbers tips/advice on this one, the best way around it and how to try and avoid a nightmare? Look forward to your replies! |

I am sorry but the answer is nobody knows,Disneyland has been quieter than expected, but that doesn't reflect really on Disney world!
We are there on the 19th and was initially devastated that they were opening g early but are now looking forward to it. Saying that we are taking advantage of the extra early magic hours and going at 6am!

Thanks for the reply anyway.
I had a feeling that may be the case, hence why I mentioned it may have been a silly question. Like someone else said on here about a year ago, its not the Brits that make up the park numbers is it? Its the South American and all the American states that make it up and nobody knows how many of them are Star Wars mad do they? I would imagine a few 10,000, if not more |

That's exactly why we were thinking of doing just that... cancelling and wait maybe until next year.
For 6 grand, its an awful lot of money for a horrible time isn't it? That's exactly what worries us, would it just be a nightmare and TOTAL chaos? Why, what happened to you with Toy Story then? Please do tell... |

I suppose in another view, Hagrid's hasn't even settled down yet either has it?
That and HHN I suppose is just going to add to the problem. That's a night I don't want to repeat on last year. Have been 7 times since 2009 and never seen anything like it, got there at 5.30 which is quite early in my opinion and were queueing by the bridge. In the end they had to open the exit turnstiles of Universal and let half of them in that way, but never seen it that bad before. It would be interesting to see though if Star Wars created 8/9 hour queues like Hagrid's did, whether or not all those in that line would make other rides such as Pandora etc quieter, because that's several 1000 that aren't in the rest of the park. Do you see what I mean? |

Just my personal opinion but I suspect all parks will be bedlam. There will be massive increase in numbers at HS due to GE, but this means that people who dont want that chaos will go to other parks increasing their numbers. Also the new HS tiers are designed to try and reduce numbers in the park further, which again increases numbers else where.
BUT theres so much more to Orlando than just Disney. Why not use it as an opportunity to do all the other things in a more relaxed fashion that always get crammed in during the odd down time. We booked to go in Aug and luckily we head home on 28th Aug, but I'd have been pretty annoyed had they changed it to whilst I was there as I think it will be so crazy. |

I personally thing Hollywood studios will be busy but the rest of Disney world will be the same or quieter, historically this happened with toy story land and Pandora, also if you look at the situation with Galaxys edge in DIsneyland the rest of the parks are dead and I mean deathly quiet!
The majority of star wars fans will book for one night or just turn up for Galaxys edge they won't bother with the rest of Disney world. Also with the announcement of Rise opening in December alot may just wait till then!

It could go either way really... we went to the parks after Christmas in 2016 and ended up leaving after an hour just because the crowds where so bad! Depends how much you can and want to tolerate...
