Recomendations for xmas cake UK

Can you recomend me A tasty xmas cake I can buy in the uk please pref without the icing thanks

Dont know to be honest - without the icing !

I buy an Asdas / M&S plain white one ready for home icing, turn it over, prick the bottom of the cake with a fork - and spend the next month sprinkling booze into it. Then turn it over and let the kids at it with the icing bags ready for the big day.

It certainly looks homemade, and it tastes great

If you have a 'Peters' bakery in your area you used to be able to order from them without icing.

Have a look at

megrivers

they do a fab range of cakes and puddings by mail order - we use them a lot.

And

they can do you a "special" if required and do a cake with no icing -etc!
