Can old ticket days be used on a magic band?
I've got a 10 day multi park pass from 2008 that still has days available on it - I'm planning on using them for our trip next year. I wondered if I could have the available days on them translated to a Magic Band? DH and the kids will have new tickets so they'll be able to have them but wondered if there was any way to use the old ones on one for me?
Thanks. |

Yeah you just link them to the magic band that you want to use. We did that with a couple of day tickets we had left when my parents joined us for an impromptu trip...it was very handy and saved us/them a fortune 🙂

Oh brilliant thanks. Do you have to do it at GR when you're there?

Do the passes not expire 10 days from the first use? I thought they did?

Just found this on the Disney site under FAQ's.. Tickets FAQ
I'm not trying to put a damper on this, but I was just curious.

Ah they must be older then as they are definitely the no expiration option.

I had old n-e tickets. I had to convert them via Disney chat before I could add them to the system. Something to do with the coding on the back. I was able to do it over the phone. They will also be able to tell you how many days left - for this I had to send a picture of the back of the old ticket to an email address they gave me alsongside answers to various questions about how / where I got them from. (None of which I could remember!) This enabled me to book FPs etc.
Then when I got there I had to convert them to the new plastic tickets at guest services. I found the one in disney springs better than the queue. They transferred the FPs over to the new plastic tickets ( as you you need magic bands guess they could do that too and maybe able to do this without you having to physically having to convert them). I seemed to gain a day or two in the process. Have heard reports of others say the same. But sssshhh! Edited at 04:34 PM. |

You may have paid extra for the "No Expiration" option.
Tickets from before 2005 came with the no expiration option as standard with no additional cost. Then from 2005 until about 2016 (I think) tickets expired 14 days after first use but you could buy an "no expiration" add-on to make the remaining days on the tickets last "forever". Disney dropped this option a couple of years ago - all MYW tickets bought today will expire 14 days (at most) after first use. Disney can link your old tickets to someone listed in your MDE account and then you can use any MagicBand linked to that person to use the remaining days on that old ticket. Your best bet is to go to Guest Relations at any of the parks and ask them to link the ticket. ETA: Or they can link them over the phone - see the post above
