I just dont understand how this would help anyone. I for one would never book BA ever again. They've made money so they want a share, fine. But putting everyone off so publically?! Surely that'll only affect future profits.
Last time we had chicken pox, now this. I'm cursed!

Unfortunately it’s not just BA you can get caught up in strikes with we have been caught up in a BA cabin crew strike before and had to fly out a few days early but we’ve also experienced Virgin strikes.

Well, it doesnt sound like BA have upped their offer...

From BBC...

Willie Walsh, chief executive of IAG, believes that the company pays its British Airways pilots enough.

"I have to say I think the British Airways pilots are excellent, I think they work very well for us, they are very professional," he told the Today programme.

"But clearly British Airways has a responsibility to all of its employees in BA. I have a responsibility to all the employees right across the group and I think the pay deal that has been offered is a fair deal."

I can understand striking for safety issues/welfare/redundancies, but when its just pay and benefits then I can't get behind it.
I don't think its fair to hold customers at ransom for this reason.

Do we think talks might 'break down' today or will they start again on Monday? If they do break down today I can see strikes being announced before 5pm and that means the first day will be the day we are due to fly. If they carry on next week I will then be very concerned about getting back and, although it would be nice to have extra days on holiday, my kids start back and school and I have to be back at work and will not be paid for extra time I have to have off, which I guess I won't be able to be compensated for.

I wish they would just announce the strike dates and get on with it - at least then we would all know where we stand!

I think that makes it safe until 19 August which puts us in the clear (going out at least). Good luck to everyone else worrying.
