Mobile Anyone done indirect via Philadelphia with aa?

Due to the awful start to the trip this year and the general all round cock up with BA they have very generously given us some flight vouchers(have to say they were rather great after a very well worded letter I sent to the director)
Been looking at a fly drive via philly into orlando from Manchester which is on the Dreamliner and would be flying PE as I have a very long 13 year old who really struggled this last time with space. Has anyone flown this route?how are AA? What's the transfer experience like?immigration etc.? We were looking at virgin but they have gone silly again with prices but didnt fancy the heathrow miami again and obviously to fly ba into mco is a pain as need to go over to lgw from lhr
Any advice appreciated 😁

I've done it once, AA flight crew were the friendliest I've ever known, cant say that I enjoyed the getting off the plane and going through customs with the most miserable customs officer I've ever known, getting bags, getting rid of bags and then going through security.

Did enjoy the saving on the price though and would do it again if it was cheap, also really good not having to go through customs at MCO

It was great, Philly quick and efficient immigration, AA great no.problems, just have to drag your bags off a carousel and almost immediately give them back again, no hassle though

Did it this year via PHL, we really like that route -

I will add, immigration this year is so much better than last year, they now have the automated kiosks which save a bit of time, plus as its an american airline, you get less EU passport holders on it which make the queues shorter.

Service - its great, so much better than BA, VS, TUI etc..

The IFE is good too, (avoid the 767 flights though)

Philly would be my first preference for an indirect flight... having done Miami, JFK and Charlotte. The choice for places to eat is really good.
Just make sure you allow enough time for immigration.

Is this the same even if the second flight is with aa? Although after this years dramas would be nice to see them midway 🤣

It's the best I've been on for indirect, I've done it 4 times I think. Also done JFK, Newark, Atlanta, Chicago.
Philly is the best one. And there's a Chick Fil A there from memory... I love my Chick Fil A.
