Using Revolut to pay Cruise Balance

Hi. I think I posted this in the wrong forum (Trip Planning) So i'm putting it here instead>

Has anyone paid their holiday balance with Revolut?
I am due to pay for our cruise with Carnival, and because its in Dollars, I thought it would be easier using my Revolut card.

If I use my Debit card, I know my bank will charge a lot of fees. But using Revolut, I can get a good exchange rate without the fees.

I just wasn't sure because its about $3000.

Anyone done this, without any problems?
Thanks
James

Thanks for the quick reply. That makes me feel a lot better. We have used Revolut for all our holidays in Florida as well as Europe for everyday use and never had a problem. But I have never used it for quite as much money transfer as this.

Thanks again
James

No bother James. I was a little apprehensive myself and loaded the card with the two sums separately just to be on the safe side.

Thats a good idea. We have 2 cruises to pay for (Back to Back) So I will probably pay for 1 first just to make sure.

Just don't use it on the ship as they will place a hold on your oustanding balance which takes 30 days to clear revokut don't do holds they actually hand over your money so your balance will be negative after two weeks revolut will take the money from any card they have on file.

This left me in over 2000$ of debt for 6 weeks last year

We have just paid the balance on our Disney cruise in dollars with Revolut. 3 people 3 different revolut cards. Worked really well. We just kept topping it up when the rate was reasonable.

I've managed to pay for our first cruise yesterday with Revolut card. It took about 3 days of phoning to Carnival because their system kept saying that my postcode did'nt match the card. (Even though it did)

I contacted Revolut who said that my card was fine, and it should work.

In the end, I transferred the money from my Revolut to DW's card, and then phoned back to Carnival. The payment went through without any problem.

I got back in touch with Revolut who still insisted that my card was fine. I explained that I was worried that when we were on holiday the card might not work. The answer I got was "If you have any problems, contact us and we will send out a replacement card express" There was no mention of any charges for this, but I assume there will be.

I would have thought the easiest way would be to send me a new card now. But they must have their reasons.
