Mobile Sister wanting to join holiday

My dsis is wanting to come with me and my ds to florida and bring my dn too. I really dont want her to come as she will end up taking over the trip and my dn is poorly behaved at the best of times. Ive been looking forward to this trip for ages albeit still got til next year to go. How can i say tactfully i dont want her to come and it to just be my ds and i? Shes openly admitted she is jealous that im going back to florida and wants to come to "keep an eye" on me... im 27yrs old ≈≈≈

Can’t you tell her that this is a special trip just for you and your son and so you’d like to go alone?

My advice is stick to your guns and say you just want to go the two of you. Friends of ours, who we have been to Orlando with twice, ended up going with others when they really didn't want to (difficult situation but they didn't have the guts to say no!) and the end result was a bad holiday and a falling out! They regretted it completely. An expensive mistake to make. Just try be diplomatic and say 'no' from the very start then there is no misunderstanding or false promises! Good luck - keep us updated!

I've been in a similar situation a few years back but it was my Mum who wanted to come with my nephew. I said brilliant - let me know where you are staying and we can meet up for a few meals and a day in the park... funnily enough she decided not to come that year so a result.

See my issue I’ve got is that my hubby didn’t think and said to sister in law that she should come and oh you can stay in our villa. It’ll be a cheap holiday for you. Erm... no. I like to walk around with my bra off (obviously top on) when I’m in house and as much as I love my sister in law and her fiancé I don’t wanna spend a week living with them.

Anyway back to your issue. I agree with above. Say that you will meet up a few time have dinner and go park. But that you need your couple time too.

I would tactfully say that as it is such an expensive and special holiday you need to be selfish and don't want to spoil it for her by making her do all the things you already have planned and that she'd have a much better time going on her own with her daughter doing all the things they want to do and not having to fit in with someone else.
